Carrier IQ is watching you!

Looks like pretty much every smart phone on the planet is running a little bit of spyware that
logs all sorts of activity on your phone. Depending on the model; it’s either quite innocent or downright spooky.
Reports indicate that logging on the iPhone is probably benign TUAW
On the other hand if you’ve got an HTC They’re watching you!

  1. I wonder if I could talk you into helping me – a guy who knows just enough to get himself in trouble… I was researching on how to install Mavericks and then got the bright idea of purchasing Mountain Lion. I was able to get it on disc.. not sure that’s a good thing but you can help with that right? I don’t think it can be installed the old fashioned way, but I was going to give the forums a go to see if I can install it on this older machine.

I have a MacPro not sure if it’s a 2006 or 2007 but either way I believe it’s a mac pro 1,1. It has a pretty nice card in it (nice for me anyway) ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024 MB.

What I would like to do is limp along with this older machine until I can afford to buy a newer computer… but I guess I need help doing that. I have tried to use Mavericks download enabler without success – I have three hard drive bays installed and when I run it then reboot it gives me a blue screen and I have to restart the machine holding down option and then selecting the drive I want to start up from… so that’s not much help. I can’t install the enabler so therefore I can’t download the mavericks installer to make a usb install drive for Mavericks…Not sure if this is making much sense, but I would sure appreciate help if you can!
